Best Friend + LA + Jesse McCartney = Happiness

Image
A couple months ago, I saw that Jesse McCartney was going on tour and I wanted to go. I was a big fan back in the day, so I had to get tickets just relive my younger years. I don't have many friends who are fans, but sent one of my best friends a text and she was in. She was with me during the Jesse McCartney obsession phase, so she got it. We were in 7th grade when "Beautiful Soul" came out and we'd sing it all the time at recess, complete with hand motions (total nerds, ha) and essentially, it was part of our childhood, really.  We bought the tickets and we were ready to go!                                _____________________________________________ Fast forward to Wednesday morning. Liz and I left for LA around 10 and made it down there around noon. Car rides are usually my favorite, because if you have great company, it's just you guys and the open road for a couple hours. Ain't It Fun...Seeing Paramore Live

Image
Friday night, one of my best friends spent the night. We had dinner, watched the first hour or so of "La La Land" and then turned in early for our road trip the next day. Because calories don't count on birthdays or vacations, right? Once we made it to the Mountain View area, we checked into our Air BnB. It was a nice area, shaded with trees and generally pretty quiet. I'd never stayed at one, so I was interested to see how it all worked. I loved it! I can...

Every year my office does some sort of training/retreat. This year, we went to one of our local event spots for a day of conversation and team building exercises. Throughout the year, we're all so busy with projects and deadlines that we don't always get a chance to be in the same room at the same time. It was nice to laugh and joke a little more on the personal side. We forget that we're all just people too outside of our roles. After, we went over to our boss' house for an end-of-the-year party to celebrate. We ate tacos, shared stories and photos about our summer trips and talked about fun things, instead of just work and tasks. We also celebrated my work mom since it was her birthday. Again, it was fun just being outside of the office and not feeling like you have a million other things to do. That kicked off my weekend. I came home - talked to my aunt on the phone for awhile, packed for my upcoming trip, made myself some tea and watched "Chuck...
