Just a girly day

The last month has been crazy with something going every weekend and long days at work. This was the first Friday to myself and I took full advantage of it. I had my lazy morning, watching the Today Show, my favorite, drank my coffee, read for a bit and took my time getting ready. That’s my kind of morning.

I got ready, put makeup on, a cute shirt and jeans and a bow in my hair. I felt cute for the first time in a while, because for the last couple weeks, if I didn’t have plans, I just became one with the couch and melted away.

I ran the typical “girl errands” as the internet would say: I went to Target to get my drive-up order (some little gadgets for my phone and a podcast mic), Bath & Body Works to pick up my order of Bridgerton goodies (soaps and hand sanitizer), then went next door to Sephora and bought some makeup things I probably didn’t need - Lipstick from Haus, Lady Gaga’s line, and a blush compact from Charlotte Tilbury.

On my way home from the errands, I went to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf to try their new Matcha Cream Mango Latte, which was the perfect sweet, summery treat for this heat. I came home, read my book, worked on a project for a wedding on Sunday that I’m working on and just took advantage of having the afternoon completely to myself.

While I try to fill every Friday or weekend with some activity during the summer, it was nice to have a more laid back day. It reminded me of the days I used to plan out years ago when I started having Fridays off.

It’s okay to not always have something planned. Just let things unfold naturally.
