Urgent care + frozen yogurt
This week, I decided I should get my toe checked out. It's not that it hurts so much, but it is completely numb. That doesn't seem like such a good sign, so I figured I'd get it checked out to make sure there's no permanent damage or I haven't made it worse somehow.
See picture below:
I wasn't sure if my primary doctor could take care of it or not, and it was hard to get in touch with someone to get any questions answered. So, Tuesday morning, I decided to make an appointment for the urgent care. I went in at noon, and it took longer than I expected. My blood pressure was very high, so they took it several times. That was nothing new, I've always had that issue, but chalked it up to anxiety. Then, I waited for the x-ray technician. After they took the scan, I waited for about 20 or so minutes for them to call my name to go over it.
The doctor explained that I fractured it and showed me what it looks like, asked what I did. He told me he wants me to wear buddy tape and a boot for six weeks. I was supposed to have jury duty next week, but thankfully he was able to write me a note to get out for the time being. He also asked me about my blood pressure and whether anyone has ever talked to me about it before. It's been mentioned but not to the extent he addressed it. So, he wants me to start on blood pressure pills to help lower it...Because it was way too high for my age and having anxiety on top of that. So, maybe after all of this, the toe situation was the reason for getting me to a different doctor. Maybe that visit made all the difference.
Yesterday, I worked from home. Then, met Athena and Sarah for yogurt at Tutti Frutti, which I haven't had in the longest time. We mixed all the flavors and covered our yogurt in toppings of mochi, sprinkles and whatever else sounded good. We sat and talked for about an hour about Bridgerton, catching up on other shows, beauty and whatever else came to mind. It was so good to get away during the work day to catch up with my gal pals outside of the office. It was nice to have break with a sweet treat.
I'm so glad the week is almost over. Today is my Friday, so I'm off tomorrow and have the rest of the weekend - My mom's birthday, a beach trip and gearing up for the 4th of July holiday next week, although we probably won't do much.
*sigh*
That's all for now,
Shelby
